Power & Utilities
Overview
Energy regulation is a multidisciplinary field that requires lawyers who are just as comfortable with accounting, economics and engineering matters as they are with administrative law principles.
As longtime counsel to the Manitoba Public Utilities Board, our energy regulatory team has been involved in every large energy hearing in Manitoba during the past 30 years. We have been hearing counsel in economic assessments of capital expenditure plans, general rate applications for electric and gas utilities, cost of service methodology reviews, and a number of other hearings and regulatory matters.
The scope of our energy regulatory team involves analyzing utility applications, briefing decision makers, organizing and leading hearings, working with technical experts to develop information requests, cross-examining witnesses, and preparing orders and other regulatory documents.
